Belated ROW Update #8

IMG_0183.JPGOops – Monday again, and I haven’t posted my ROW update! Ah well, better late than never.

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. Yes, though one of the two days had me mostly thinking that I’m working on the wrong project, and trying to come up with something else to work on instead. (4/8)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Yes. Easily, this week. (5/8)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. The first square is done, and the second is started. Yay! (1/2 squares)

4. Finish a crocheted scarf I’m working on for a friend. DONE. (1/1 completed scarf)

5. Post ROW blogs at least once a week, and visit (& comment on!) the blogs on my blog roll plus at least 5 random ROW-er blogs. Yup. Or at least I was caught up at some point during the last week, so I’m considering that a win. (6/8)

Have a wonderful week!

Round of Words – Update #7

IMG_0183.JPGHappy Sunday! I don’t know about you, but I have plans for later to watch the Oscars and eat cheesecake. Hope you have a fun day!

Here’s my ROW progress for this week (and a link to the official ROW80 blog for today):

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. Nothing at all done on this front this week. For shame. I really must focus on this in the coming week. (3/7)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Yes. (But barely.) (4/7)

Yes. At least I’m pretty sure I did. I know I caught up on my blog roll and wrote a ROW post. I think I visited ROW-er blogs, so I’m going to count it. (5/7)

Have a wonderful week!

Round of Words – Check up #6

IMG_0183.JPGOops. Today’s Yesterday’s Round of Words check-in was delayed. My only excuse was that Mr. Wyrm and I were both feeling a tad under the weather, and celebrating a late Valentine’s Day. So here’s a Monday Summary instead.

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. I don’t remember how often I did this. Which generally means “not enough.” (3/6)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Yes. (Finally.) (3/6)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. I finished my first square over the weekend! I finished the Tesla square, and it was a ton of fun. The designers ask that anyone who enjoys it “consider making a donation to Child’s Play Charity. Here is a direct link to our donation page benefiting the charity. Please help us raise $1,000 this year! No contribution is too small.” I haven’t donated anything this year (I did last year) but I will be doing so once we get a little farther away from the holidays.

Maybe? But since I have that question mark there, probably not. (4/6)

I hope you all had a great weekend and have a lovely week to come!

Round of Words – Check up #5

IMG_0183.JPGIt’s time for the 5th check-in for this Round! It’s a rainy weekend here in California, and I love it. Partly because no one objects to me staying inside with tea and a book, and partly because we desperately need the rain.

But on to the Round of Words progress. How’d it go this week? Not as well as I’d like, but there was some progress.

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. Only once last week, sadly. It was a good session, but there was only the one. Rehearsals have been starting earlier than I’m used to because of the kids being in the show, so I don’t have as much time between work and rehearsal for other things. (3/5)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Sadly no. Again. Only twice this week. No real excuse as to why. I just didn’t do more than the twice. (2/5)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. Not *quite* done with the first of the two squares yet. Close, but not quite. Still loving the project. The square they released this week was a Stargate square, which is really cool.  I also like that it’s a charity KAL. (0/2 squares)

4. Finish a crocheted scarf I’m working on for a friend. DONE. (1/1 completed scarf)

5. Post ROW blogs at least once a week, and visit (& comment on!) the blogs on my blog roll plus at least 5 random ROW-er blogs. I posted blogs. And I know that I caught up early last week, though I’ve since slipped again. (It seems that I need to reminder to catch up on my blog reading that comes with writing this particular blog post. Still catching up at least once a week is better than nothing, and I think it counts toward this goal.) (4/5)

Have a great week, everyone!

Round Of Words – Check-up #4

IMG_0183.JPGIt’s time for the 4th check-in for this Round! Huh – and would you look at that? I’m on time (or possibly even early) this week! Probably because we’ll be going to a super bowl party later today (which, in my opinion, is just an excuse to get together with friends and have a lunch of little nibbles instead of something healthy).

So. How did I do this week? Let’s find out:

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. I’m pretty sure this is a yes. They weren’t long sessions because I had headaches, but I’m pretty sure there were small sessions twice last week. (3/4)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Sadly no. It’s hard to do more than lay around on the bed or the couch when your head hurts. I spent all my active time doing things someone else was motivating me to do (work and rehearsal) and had little energy left for anything else. (2/4)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. I’m having so much fun with this one, though I haven’t finished either of the two squares I’ve set as goals yet. However, I have now finished my other crafty-goal for this Round, so I can start to focus on this one. (0/2 squares)

4. Finish a crocheted scarf I’m working on for a friend. DONE. And early! The birthday that I was hoping to have this done before is later this week, so I just made it in time for that! The scarf’s FO post will be later this week (maybe Friday?) so if you want to see pictures of it, come back later. However, I’ll warn you now: it’s a bacon scarf. You may get hungry looking at the pictures. (1/1 completed scarf)

5. Post ROW blogs at least once a week, and visit (& comment on!) the blogs on my blog roll plus at least 5 random ROW-er blogs. I posted blogs, I know that. I can’t remember if I kept up with the comments on other ROWer blogs. However, I’m going to call it a win because the part I remember was a success, and I’m going to try to focus on the plusses this Round instead of the things that I didn’t manage to do. (3/4)

Rabbit rabbit rabbit! Hard to believe it’s February already…

Round Of Words – Check-up #3

IMG_0183.JPGIt’s time for the 3rd check-in for this Round! And it’s still Sunday, so it’s technically on time.

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. Yup! I know I did this for sure this week. One thing that rehearsals are good for is giving me a chunk of time between work and theatre in which to eat and either read or write. And since I’ve been forgetting my book lately (and forgetting that I have ebooks on both my phone and tablet) I’ve been writing. (2/3)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Yup! Granted, one of the “three times” was before we watched the dolphin show and another of them was AFTER said show. I don’t care. Spending all day walking around a theme park has to count for something. (2/3)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. Still in progress. Good progress, but not as fast as it could be, because I’ve been focusing on #4, craft-wise.  (0/2 squares)

4. Finish a crocheted scarf I’m working on for a friend. In progress. about 60% done. I still hold our hope that this might be done in time for said friend’s birthday. (0/1 completed scarf)

5. Post ROW blogs at least once a week, and visit (& comment on!) the blogs on my blog roll plus at least 5 random ROW-er blogs. I did this last week! Yay me! And thanks to all my fellow ROWers who stopped by to visit me in return! (2/3)

Have a great last week of January, everyone! Hard to believe the year’s already nearly 1/12th gone…

Round Of Words – Check-up #2

IMG_0183.JPGIt’s time for the Week 2 Check-in for the Round of Words! Well, it’s past time for it. But I spent most of yesterday in a dairy-induced food coma, so there was no posting yesterday. (We had a late lunch of lovely baked mac & cheese from a restaurant that specializes in mac, followed by ice cream from Fenton’s. Yum.)

1. Some kind of writing task at least two times a week. I know I did once. I don’t remember if I did twice. I’m going to guess that means no. (1/2)

2. Exercise at least three times a week. Yes! Once was only a short thing, but one of the others was long. I’m counting it. (1/2)

3. Knit 2 squares for the 2015 Geek-A-Long blanket. In progress. I’ve started the first square. (0/2 squares)

2015/01/img_0198.jpg

4. Finish a crocheted scarf I’m working on for a friend. In progress. Still pending. (0/1 completed scarf)

5. Post ROW blogs at least once a week, and visit (& comment on!) the blogs on my blog roll plus at least 5 random ROW-er blogs. Not quite done. I fell a bit behind again. (1/2)
