FO: Ectoplasm Shawl Test Knit

There has been more knitting going on, and on a new project in addition to things you know about, but I can’t wait to share my finished Ectoplasm Shawl with you. I cast off and blocked the shawl Friday, just in time for the test knit deadline:

It easily blocked out to the 66″ wingspan on the pattern, and though I could have gone bigger I think that would have messed with the design so I left it to the measurements specified.

The colors I chose are more subtle than I think are ideal for this shawl design, but I do love the way it turned out.

I couldn’t help but take lots of pictures of it. I even got some nice sunshine pictures to really show off the color combination.

If you’re interested in knitting this shawl, it has been officially released now. It was a fun knit, too, so I’d recommend it! It’s here on the blogosphere, and here on Ravelry if you’re interested.

I plan on knitting another one with a higher contrast set of yarns, possibly with one of them as a gradient or something like Chroma or Noro with a long color repeat. I think that would be a lot of fun.
