Wanted: Focus. Inquire Within

I need to find some focus somewhere. I’ve been rather distracted lately, and I can only partly blame my boyfriend. (Well, I can put blame wherever I want, but if I want to be honest about it I have to take some – aka most – of the blame myself.)

It is way too easy to get distracted by games, Facebook, and other Internet time-sucks. And this is AFTER I’ve taken a huge step back from Twitter and Plurk (another similar social networking site)… I barely Tweet anymore, and only skim my timeline.

All that’s not counting things like books. It seems that between reading, gaming, ‘net time, playing with (and cleaning up after) my cat, spending time with the BF, and work (plus its accompanying commute) I don’t have time for much of anything anymore. And that includes writing, knitting, and (these days) sleeping.

Actually, I’m not reading as much as “usual” either. I think I’ll still read plenty by the time the year is out, but maybe not my usual 60-70 books per year.

And when I do knit, I make mistakes. I knit past the heel turn on the sock I’m currently working on, and had to tink back to fix it. Luckily it’s an easy fix, but man. I need to find my focus, and soon, before I mess up something big.

I hear ya! Such a juggling act to stay on top of things.

  2. Chris says:

People give me crap about not being on Twitter or Facebook, but I already know I’m on the ragged edge between nearly too much and too much, so…

I hope you figure out how to focus and/or prioritize!
