Here is a pair of mitts that I made for my niece’s birthday. I made them to go with the Silly Frilly Scarf that I made out of that Red Heart Sashay stuff. I am still not a huge fan of that yarn, but I have discovered something that I like to do with it:
Make ruffles on normal knitting.
Like so. That means I can knit the normal yarn, but still get the ruffles of the Sashay.

On the other hand, there are very limited uses even for this. I can’t make anything ruffled (and be happy with the result) the way I ruffled these mitts.
But these are for a now-seven-year-old girl. She loves them.
SPECS: (and a Ravelry link)
Pattern: Adorable kids fingerless gloves
Designer: Wei S. Leong
Yarn: Knit Picks Stroll in Sapphire Heather, with Red Heart Boutique Sashay Multicolor in Jive
Needles:US 2 (2.75 mm)
Start/End Dates: 10/23/12 – 12/17/12
Mods: Many. To start with, I added the Sashay for a ruffle. Then after knitting the cuff, I added the Mitt Envy cable pattern (by weezalana) to the back of the hand so it would match the mitts I made for my sister. (They’re in the same yarn, too. Matching mommy and daughter mitts. Aaaww.)
Details on how I did the mods are on my Ravelry page, in case anyone wants to duplicate them.

As long as she loves them !!!!!!! THey are great
Cute mitts!
Oh, that’s a clever use of the yarn and the mitts look fabulous!
