Halfway
August 11, 2008It’s been a long time since I’ve had a sock knit up as quickly as the Trekking Grandiflora socks are.
They’re a fun knit, and since the pattern is only a two-row repeat, it’s easy to memorize. Makes it go pretty quickly. Well, for me. That means I’ve finished sock #1 within a matter of weeks, rather than a matter of many months.
It is a fun pattern, though now I will face the challenge of making the second sock match my accidental change to the pattern from the first sock. (What I did was to have the yarn overs at the beginning of the instep, rather than having the decreases there. It makes it more interesting than following the pattern as written… and I mean “interesting” in the “difficult,” “why couldn’t I just follow the pattern” kind of way.)
Anyway, I am enjoying this knit. And I dearly love the yarn.
The yarn was a contest win last year from Romancing the Yarn. Go check them out, and support good knitter-novelists!

These are very nice!
So pretty!
And the best thing? Sock 1, pattern reinterpretation notwithstanding, looks fabulous.
