In honor of today being 8/8/08, I am going to post a list of 8 random things.
1. Lists are a great way to avoid admitting you have nothing else to write about. Except when the first item on your list is having nothing else to write about.
2. I have a new writing project to think about. However, I am not going to let it take over from my already posted writing schedule. This is a side-project, like Holly Lisle’s “Busman’s Holiday.”
3. It’s been nearly a year since I bought my car, and I’ve determined that I love having a stick-shift. I can’t imagine going back to having an automatic; this is so much more fun. But don’t ask me to drive in San Francisco.
4. It’s been chilly in the mornings here. And it’s August. In California. I’m confused.
5. I get to spend extra time with my niece this weekend. My BIL is going out of town, so I’m having sleepovers with my sister. Should be fun.
6. Playing video games can be addictive. Right now I’m addicted to Diablo II. (I know, it’s an older game. I never finished it… maybe I will this time.)
7. I’m going to buy an iPhone. I’ve decided this. However, I am making myself wait until my current phone contract expires. This is largely so that I will have the time to save up the money to buy accessories as well as the phone itself. Not to mention hopefully pay my debt down a little so I can afford the higher monthly cost of service. But I love my MacBook so much that I think I will love the iPhone as well.
8. I find myself not missing getting TV stations for the shows, or the news, or anything much… but it would be nice to turn on the Olympics. Not to watch the events, however, so much as to see if the networks are still using John Williams’ Olympic Fanfare. I LOVE that piece.
