Ode to PBW
October 24, 2007O PBW, PBW, where (the heck) art thou, PBW?
Deny thy deadline and return to blog;
Or, if thou wilt not, post but one more word,
And we’ll no longer be in misery.‘Tis but thy silence that is our enemy;
Thou art thyself, though sadly absent.
What’s absent? it is not here, nor there,
Nor posting, nor commenting, nor any part
Belonging to a blogger. O, be some other name!
What’s in a name? that which we call a schedule
By any other name would be as regular;
So PBW would, were she not technically plagued,
Retain that dear regularity with which she posts
Without that title. PBW, doff thy troubles,
And for those spammers which are no part of thee
Take all of us.

There. My Ode to PBW. The idea was courtesy of Joely, and (as I mentioned Monday) there are other good enticements here and here.

On to other things. My writing is progressing, not as quickly as I’d like but not too horribly given that I also have to work at the day job. I am at least getting ready for NaNo, and should be all ready to run with that story by the time we hit November 1. I must also remember to take a few days off scattered around the month so that I can have at least a little time where I can focus on writing without worrying about the day job.
My critique commitments for my writing group are progressing nicely. I am caught up, and have only a small amount more that I want to do before the end of the month. Phoenix has gotten her full-novel critique, and it feels good to have gotten that accomplished. It also is good for my own writing to be looking at ways to make other people’s writing stronger; not only does it help with my own edits, but it makes the first draft a little better, too. It’s a win-win situation, as far as I’m concerned.
And, in closing, here’s a kitty picture. Partly because it’s kitties, and partly because there will be a cat fight in my story. (Though these kitties aren’t actually fighting. Just rough-housing.)

Oh, Nicole, this is PRICELESS!! I’m doing a TT tonight that I’ll also dedicate to PBW and I’ll include a link here. I love this!
*grins* *laughs* Would you believe me if I told you that I originally wanted to do a Shakespearean sonnet, but the rhymes just weren’t in me at the time? Nicely done.
Cat fight… heheee… Mum said we are always doing the pig fight
Hope both kitties survived…
Very Shakespearean. I’m impressed.
[...] to the blog-o-sphere, here is another Shakespearean knock-off in her honor. It goes with the Romeo & Juliet one I posted at Joely’s urging not long [...]
