Current Writing Tasks
January 6, 2006Right, so as a Writing Journal, I suppose I must begin by journaling something. My current progress on my various WIPs seems the best place to start.
Strip Search, my 2005 NaNoWriMo novel, has the first draft completely written. It currently clocks in somewhere around 56K. Not nearly long enough. I am in the progress of writing the second draft, and have reached Chapter Six with my edits. So far, so good.
My as-yet-untitled WIP telling the tale of the Elesare, which was started long ago and in a city far away, has not been worked on in a long time. It has reached something around 35K. Parts of it are on the first draft, other parts on the tenth. I hope to finish it before doing any more real revision.
All my other ideas for novels are still simmering. A few have notes, a few have very basic outlines, and one has a first draft that’s about novella length and yet must go through a complete and total world-rebuild and so doesn’t quite count.
Not too terribly awful for a complete amateur. But since I hope to some day be more than that, I must get cracking. Which means writing stories, not blogs.
Hey, Firewolf from OWG here. Just checking out your blog, mostly because I am bored and procrastinating on my own writing.
Writing blogs can be fun. Hope you keep yours up.
Hope your writing goes well.
